Pear, Banana and Apple Crumble Streusel
3 very ripe pears
2 very ripe bananas
1 granny smith apple
large pinches of allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg and some other spice I cant remember.
1 cup quick oats
1 cup plain flour
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup caster sugar
125g cold butter, cut into cubes
1/2 -1 tsp cinnamon for the streusel
Preheat oven to 170 degrees celsius (fan-forced).
Peel, core and slice the pears and place them in an ovenproof dish.
Peel and mash the banana and place in with the pears.
Peel, core and slice the apple and place in the dish with pears and bananas.
Sprinkle over the spices and stir.
Sprinkle the oats over the crumble mixture.
Make a streusel by combining flour, salt and sugar in the bowl of a food processor and processing until it is well combined. After this step has been completed, add the butter and cinnamon and pulse until it either resembles sand (for fine streusel) or clumps (for chunky streusel). This does work best if refrigerated for 30 minutes for use.
Sprinkle the streusel over the crumble mixture and bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until the fruit mixture is bubbling up and the streusel is nice and brown.
