Strawberry Milk

150g strawberries, washed and chopped, frozen or fresh are both good for this recipe
2/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups water
4 cups milk

In a small saucepan, heat the strawberries, sugar and water until boiling.

Let boil for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The mixture should thicken during this time.

Pour the strawberry mixture into a sieve and collect the liquid in a bowl or jar.

Discard the seeds that are left behind in the sieve.

Leave syrup to cool for 30 minutes.

Using chilled glasses, pour 1 cup of ice cold milk into each glass.

Add 3 tbs of strawberry syrup to each glass of milk and stir.

Try this as a thick shake by adding 2 -3 scoops of vanilla ice cream, syrup half the amount of milk syrup to the blender and blending until combined.
